Kaffeklatsch Sunday

This is the first edition of my new Sunday series Kaffeklatsch Sundays!
With this series, which I hope to have every Sunday or at least every other Sunday (input welcome), us ladies get to just get something off our chest as fast or complex as we need to. Most Sunday's I'll provide a theme, but if you feel that what you need to vent or just bitch about is really important, let me know and we will frame it around you!!

Therefore, it's Sunday. Hope you ladies have your coffee ready, snuggled up in your pj's, robe, and slippers are have your fingers at the ready! :) It's Kaffeklatsch time!

This week's theme is I hate.... I know some say hate is a strong word and I agree, it is. However, on my home today I was venting to N about this and that and you have to agree with me that venting just feels so good! Who doesn't need that 10 minutes just to completely shut off our filter and have at it! Well..this morning..I must do just that.

I Hate...

...oversized pitty parties Everyone needs a little pitty sometimes but I cannot stand when people continually and constantly complain about the smallest, silliest, melodramatic thing(s)!!! And if it's the plural case it's even worse!! Get over it! I just want to say "Why don't you walk a mile in my shoes for a day, while I continue smiling and nodding at you even though I want to pop you on the head".

...lame radio With as much as I commute, I have the fortune of listening to the radio almost 3 hours out of the day. And with that come to same pop, R&B, alternative songs bumpin outta the radio all. day. long. It's awful!! I know most of you have ipod plug ins or fancy XM radio..but I just don't. I still have all my cd's (which is not an impressive collection) and actually I don't even have an ipod or itunes on my computer for that matter!! I'm a Pandora and just YouTubin' that shit.

Ye know. I had more. But I like the short and sweet 2 moan & groan brothers. So we're going to leave it at that.

Please join in for the first edition of Kaffeklatsch Sunday and linky up here. Can't wait to hear about your vents and 2cents people!

Fill in the Blank Friday

The best thing about being in school was/is that you were always surrounded by people. In high school you had so many friends all day long, or were at least always surrounded by people. In college that was just trippled of course. But the best thing about college was that you ALWAYS saw the same people. Sure if you have the same schedules...but you'd always see them everywhere you went! At the grocery store, when you go out to the bars...everywhere!!

The worst thing about being in school was/is the cyclical stress. Every semester the end gets so stressful, overwhelming, and school is so demanding that if your life goes wrong even in the slightest way, you can't do anything because your will jeopardize your entire schooling.

My favorite subject in school was/is Marriage & Family Relationships.

One subject I wish I could have mastered/would like to master is Nutrition. I had the hardest time with this subject - I never understood why.

I could never get tired of studying History. I would have to agree with Lauren on this answer. I never get tired of learning historical facts or new things I didn't know about before. Especially old European history.

The most memorable teacher I had was my high school Spanish teacher Ms Barbato.

If I could choose between going to school for the rest of my life or working for the rest of my life, I'd choose work any day. It goes back to the answer about school being so demanding without allowing things to go wrong in your life. I had a grandmother who was sick in the ICU for three months; school, the assignments as well as non believing teacher's made it unable for me to successfully finish the semester. I finished but with almost all F's. My sister became sick with a still undiagnosed brain condition; school and professors again did not care about the personal stress. And when you need to take a semester off and don't graduate on time people look at you funny and advisors begin to pressure you.
I know this is not usual, but you could not pay me to go back to school. :)

WITWW

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for my feature, Where In The World Wednesday
The idea of WITWW is to post a picture of you in someplace in the world...it doesn't have to be somewhere foreign or tropical. Just a picture of you somewhere that you consider traveling. It might even be somewhere in your own hometown! Feel free to get creative and post where you WISH you could travel, old scanned pictures of vacations from years ago or even feel free to repeat a destination with different photos!
Make sure that you link back to the wonderful miss Classy in Philadelphia so others can read about your great WITWW post!

Hola kids! This week I'm going back in time a little bit in hopes you'll have fun reading about oooohh...a little trip back in 2006. My best friend that is more like a sister (we've known each other since the age of 2 mos :) seriously we might as well have shared the same womb) came out after her high school graduation in Germany to stay with us for an entire summer. We did so much I could fill up my WITWW post calendar for the rest of the summer.

This picture was taken in California at N's aunt's house. Funny, I can't remember the city she lives in, but we are on our way to Orange County to stay with different family members of N's. Here are things I do remember about this day:
- It was 4th of July!
- We had spent the entire morning watching Italy kick Germany's butt in the current World Cup at the time (Jana and I spent the entire time getting ready sulking and crying a little - since N is for Italia we didn't live it down for the remainder of the trip)
- We went to the COOLEST mansion in Orange County for a fun July 4th bbq
- Jana managed to locate a kid's spongebob scooter and play with N's little cousin Jay in the culdesac for most of the later afternoon/night.

Time with N

I'm sorry, but I just have to rant about how excited I am to get the entire day to spend with N. Of course, we are spending it doing what we do best together - running errands. We bicker about what music to listen to. We fuck with each other while the other is trying to drive; he'll grab my right leg around the knee while I'm trying to shift my clutch, I tickle him under the arm when he stretches his right arm out over the steering wheel.

We want to punch each other all day long. And so we play slug bug no tag backs .

Oh all this is true. But so is the fact that every time we get out of the car and walk across the King Sooper's parking lot for some quick groceries, his hand will always grab mine. Every. Time.

Then we always look at each other, and smile.

This week I'm trying to get a little creative! So I am including a picture of myself and my best friend Bri on one of our weekly Thursday night outings with our friends at a bar called Sully's. The reason why this picture has to do with traveling is because when this photo was taken Bri and I had just started becoming friends. Our boyfriends were best friends and one night we decided that if we'd always see each other at parties we should probably start talking and getting to know each other.

Next thing we knew we were inseparable, even working out together, and very quickly becoming better friends than our favorite guys. Every Thursday our group of friends would kick off the night at a bar called Sully's which was in walking distance of all our houses, where we loaded up on 4 for 1's. The boys would eventually migrate and become chatty with other people, always leaving Bri and I to hang back and chat and laugh the night away.

I love to think back to the time when we were travelling on the fresh new road of
friendship ♥  ♥

July Showers

I need your help! Or maybe your creative minds to work in my favor for a little bit.
I was recently informed that my fabulous aunty whose not really my aunty more like my mother's bff and therefore like a second mother/aunty (gasp) is going to throw me the most fabulous wedding shower sometime in the next couple months.
I am so so very excited, because despite the fact that I'm completely honored I'm so excited that I actually have a positive thing about my wedding now (lots of backstory drama) and I know she is going to do a fabulous job!
Along with a little bit of help from my mother's other bff Amy aka Mauve ;) I will most likely burst into tears the day I attend my beautiful wedding shower to be.

So how do I need your help you ask?
Well, I was so inspired by ms Lauren's AMAZING job throwing her friend's baby shower (you MUST look at these cute ideas) that I thought
"Well what the hell am I going to choose for a theme for my shower?"

This is where you come in :)

So please, send me your ideas for themes or games or fun deco..anything you would like to throw at me.

This might be the only time you have my permission to launch things into space with their destination being me .

I'm so nice. I know.

The Beautiful World of Thrifting

So we all know I recently discovered thrifting thanks to my, maybe a little inappropriate blog post about my first time. Thrifting I mean - sorry :) I'm in a rebellious mood today. I've been cussing up a storm all day! My co-worker S and I decided that it's just the Gemini in me. The naughty side wants to come out today and why shouldn't she? :) Keep it interesting.

Anyway - I have realized that I am definitely not the only individual who is simply in love with blogging! No sir! I know you've all been patiently waiting for my images of my wins to the thrift store and even though I can't wait to show them to you, I have to put a little disclaimer on it and remind you that I was forced to take the images with my phone, because we STILL do not have internet (2 more days - I don't know how I will last) and so I couldn't take them with my beautiful baby - so they're kind of crappy. But bear with me, k?
- :) thx

Before I start with the pictures I feel obligated to tell you guys exactly where I went, because everyone and their mom has been asking and I have no been able to give them any exact info so here goes:

8657 Sheridan Blvd
Arvada, CO 80003-1439
(303) 487-8800

Alright I won't keep you waiting any longer.

I pretty much ran down the aisle when I saw this vintage camera case. It needs a little TLC of course, some polish and the inside needs a bit of patchwork, but when I brought this handsome case home to meet my beautiful Nikon, it was love at first sight. I'm expecting babies very soon. :P
(I make the best worst jokes - I know).
$3.80

When I first put on this adorable totally no name candy apple red blazer my mother looked at me like I was crazy. But then I wouldn't take it off and was just walking through the store with it that by the time it was ready for check out I had convinced her of it's awesomeness.
Just needs a little delicate cycle and removal of the shoulder pads (they're just TOO big) and it'll be amazing :) (Yes - I'll post pictures when I wear it!)
Put me out $4.00

And last but not least - it's a dream of mine to own a real Chanel bag that looks similar to this one, one day. But I fell in love with this one. It's a dark blue with a perfect gold chain and believe it or not it holds quite a bit for such a cute small purse.
 A whopping $2.50
Sorry again for the shitty pictures. As soon as I get back to my moms I will post pictures of my two whicker chairs that she's "remodeling" for me - oh yea - they were a whole $1.25 for each chair!!! :) Don't worry I'll post before and after pictures :)

Hello Thrifting World

Not that I was ever against it. I just had never done it. And I don't feel awkward to say that today my mom took my v-card of thrifting.

It was the most amazing thing of my life. I found SUCH good stuff, for less than $10. EVERYTHING!! I cannot wait to post pictures!! But you have to be patient with me one more day. I'm so fucking exhausted and tomorrow's my bday (!!!!) but I still have to open...plus I am still forced to use the little business center in my apartment complex and so uploading pictures to this strange computer is a little odd - but I'll do it just for you, because some of the stuff I scored is simply AMAZING!! :)

No really trust me.
All I have to say is
vintage blazer
wicker chairs
and vintage camera case

I'm telling you.
I came in the middle of that store.
I want to go back asap.

This week I'm posting my first "where I want to go" WITWW! Simply because lately, with all the wedding stress, moving, and work getting crazy demanding, that's all I think about.

My honeymoon!!!

To some of you this is going to sound very lame but to N and I it's going to be heaven on earth!! And neither of us can wait to take this trip together.
Because the finances aren't all there, N and I hadn't planned on going on the traditional trip to somewhere tropical, where we'd just spend the entire week in bed anyway, I mean, lay on the beach and get drunk all day. We were both fine with that and had said that we would save up our own money to splurge on an exciting month long trip to Italia next summer (which we still intend on doing in the near future). However, we both wet ourselves a little bit, ok a lot, when my granddad came to us and told us that as a wedding gift he'd like to give us the keys to his truck & camper, hand us his credit card for gas and send us off on a week long road trip up and down the west coast.

We love camping. We love being outside. And sitting in the sand every night just him and I for an entire week seeing this sounds better than any tropical island honeymoon.
